Monday January 30 - Today we'll reflect on our pilgrimage experience and begin the next segment of our study of life in Medieval Europe. Homework: You should have at least one Pilgrimage Journal entry
in your Social Studies Binder for the next binder check. Your journal entry should
reveal something about your character, why you are going on a
pilgrimage, some information about your group's itinerary (like the
destination your character is most looking forward to reaching), and some thoughts on your various experiences as a pilgrim, for instance: your visit to Canterbury Cathedral, the experience of seeing Chartes and designing a cathedral, encountering bandits, translating the works of Thomas Aquinas, and experiencing an outbreak of the plague. Also, MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR RESEARCH FOLDER TOMORROW.
Tuesday, January 31 - Research Paper Work Day. Today I'll review the process for putting books on hold from the public library. You may have some time to work on reading your sources and making notecards. Homework for Thursday: Place 1-2 books on hold to Solvang for your research paper. Record the author and title of each book in your RP folder - I will be asking you for this information. Make sure to bring your research folder on Thursday.
Wednesday, February 1 - Today you'll have time to put together your presentations on different aspects of medieval life. Homework for Thursday: Place 1-2 books on hold to Solvang for your research paper. Make sure to bring your research folder on Thursday.
Friday, February 3 - Medieval Life Presentations. Have a great weekend!

Thursday, February 2 - Research Paper Work Day. I'll check in with you about the books you've placed on hold. We'll talk about the outline as a tool to organize facts and opinions, and review what makes a great thesis. No Homework.
